Little did I realize the journey I was about to embark on while reading this book. It is a story of love, loss, family, survival and the phenomenal signs, communication and relationship we keep forever in our hearts and in our daily lives with those we love...even after their death. I could not put the book down until I finished it. While reading, at times...I wept. I am awed and humbled by Alan's art of husbandry, and Doris taught me how much more I needed to learn about a woman's heart. I would recommend reading this book with an open, mature mind and heart...you will not be disappointed. Thank you, Doris, for this book, and thank you, Sarah, for being such a good friend to my wife, Ann.

What a beautiful love story! Signs of Alan is an easy conversational read, one which made me feel the author's pain and her joy.

The flow and cadence is absolutely delightful-a real page turner. More than a story of surviving grief, Ms. Gray has taught me how to love and to be a better person--it doesn't get much better than that.

Brilliant! I loved reading this book. Ms. Gray has done a great job of opening up her heart without making the reader feel at all manipulated. Instead, her writing is very sincere and heartfelt.

Reading Signs of Alan has made me want to be a better man.

Ms. Gray's emotions are truly felt throughout the book. She does not "sugarcoat" her relationship with Alan so much that it is unbelievable, but real.

I stayed up way past my bedtime because I couldn't put the book down! The story gripped me and I found myself fully immersed and experiencing a range of emotions.

Signs of Alan is the most personal of recollections and, at the same time, it has wonderfully far-reaching sentiments.
